Role Overview

Receptionist & North Campus Administrative Coordinator
First Community Church

Do you enjoy being the welcoming face (and voice) of an organization? Do you thrive in a busy, people-centered environment where no two days are exactly the same? If so, you may be a great fit for our team at First Community.

This position plays a vital role in creating a warm and positive experience for everyone who calls or visits our North facility. From greeting guests with a smile, to keeping the office running smoothly behind the scenes, this role is perfect for someone who loves helping others and staying organized in a dynamic environment.

You’ll join a collaborative, supportive team and work closely with staff across many departments—always with the shared goal of making our community feel welcome and cared for.

What You’ll Do
  • Be the first point of contact for callers and visitors—answering phones, directing inquiries, and sharing general information about church programs and events.
  • Welcome and assist all guests at the Reception Desk with friendliness and professionalism.
  • Keep mail, deliveries, and general correspondence organized and routed to the right people.
  • Order and track office and program supplies to keep the campus stocked and running smoothly.
  • Handle petty cash for the North facility and help with reporting to the Business Office.
  • Support summer camp staff by managing credit card receipts through the church’s system.
  • Coordinate copier/printing needs, including vendor communication when service is needed.
  • Provide administrative support for projects and events assigned by the Director of North Administration.
  • Attend Administrative Staff meetings and participate as a contributing team member.

What We’re Looking For
  • A warm, professional communicator with excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
  • A strong collaborator who can also work independently when needed.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced office with frequent interruptions (you roll with it gracefully).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Someone who maintains confidentiality, professionalism, and a positive presence.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.

What You’ll Bring
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with people of all backgrounds.
  • A willingness to jump in and support a variety of tasks and projects.

Physical & Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based, with regular sitting, computer use, and phone work.
  • Ability to move between sitting and standing, bend to file, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Comfort using a headset or earpiece.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay is commensurate with experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package is available for full-time employees.
