Youth Program Coordinator (K-5)
JOB SUMMARY
The K–5 Summer Program Coordinator works with the K–5 ministry team to plan, coordinate, and lead the 1.2.3…Akita! program. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the coordination and teaching of Sunday school lessons alongside staff and volunteers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Help plan and lead 1.2.3…Akita! (planning: May 15- June 30; program: July 1- 3)
• Help gather and/or purchase program materials.
• Help set up room(s) for 1.2.3…Akita! and Sunday school.
• Help prepare food ingredients for 1.2.3…Akita!
• Teach Sunday school.
• Meet regularly with other K-5 staff.
• Provide supervision to certain volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• High school degree (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience working with children and parents.
• Must be available to work most Sunday mornings.
• Availability to help plan and lead 1.2.3…Akita! including:
o Flexible hours during May and June for planning
o Half days (mornings) on July 1 and 2
o Full day (8:00 am–4:15 pm) on July 3
• Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
• Understand the speech of another person.
• Stand and walk for hours during programs.
• Sit on floor and rise from seated position.
• Occasionally lift objects 5-10 pounds.
• Occasionally move furniture.
